The Mets have interviewed Chaim Bloom for their General Manager position. Mike Puma of the New York Post reported this news.

Bloom, 35, has spent the last 14 years in the Tampa Rays’ organization. He is the first candidate they have interviewed that isn’t eligible or near eligible for AARP benefits.

The Tampa Bays Rays went 90-72 this past season while he served as VP of Baseball Operations. He has been in that role since November of 2016.

In the meantime, the team has reportedly interviewed or planned to meet with Doug Melvin, Kim Ng, Gary LaRocque, and De Jon Watson.

Thad Levine and Ben Cherrington declined to interview with the Mets.

More will be added in a little bit.
