Sources tell me that Mets hitting coaches Hugh Quattlebaum and Kevin Howard will be reassigned to the minor leagues for the upcoming season. The Mets will also let coaches Dave Jauss, Brian Schneider, Jeremy Accardo, Ricky Bones, Gary DiSarcina, and Tony Tarasco have been told they can seek other employment opportunities.

Andy Martino of SNY reports that pitching coach Jeremy Hefner is expected to remain the Mets organization though his role for 2022 has not yet been defined. The Mets hold a contract option on Hefner for 2022.

Quattlebaum joined the Mets before the 2021 season to be their minor league director of hitting and was promoted to hitting coach in May when Chili Davis was fired. Howard joined the Mets before the 2021 season as well, he was their minor league director of player development before his elevation to assistant hitting coach.
