Kiley McDaniel of ESPN released his top 100 prospect list for the 2020 season and three Mets made it. Ronny Mauricio (43rd), Francisco Alvarez (87th), and Andres Gimenez (99th) represented the organization on the list.

Mauricio, 18, spent the 2019 season with the Low-A Columbia Fireflies. He hit .268/.307/.357 with four home runs and 37 RBI over 116 games. He’s been ranked as the Mets’ top prospect in most other top 100 lists as well

Alvarez, also 18, was very impressive in his first professional season in baseball as he hit .312/.407/.510 with seven home runs and 26 RBI over 42 games, mostly spent with Kingsport.

Gimenez, 21, had a rough season with Double-A Binghamton in 2019 as he hit .250/.309/.387 with nine home runs and 37 RBI over 117 games while dealing with a hand injury.

The shortstop seemed to be much healthier when he played in the Arizona Fall League, though, as he had a slash line of .371/.413/.586 with two homers and 15 RBI over 18 games. He’s also had a phenomenal spring training this year as he’s 6-for-18 (.333) with a homer.
