Voting is now officially open for the 2022 All-MLB Team and the New York Mets have eight players on the ballot, with fans able to vote once every 24 hours for the best player at each position.

The selections for the All-MLB Team will be announced from the winter meetings in San Diego, CA, on Monday, Dec. 5 on MLB Network. Voting ends at 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The Mets players on the ballot are:

Alonso had a great year offensively with a .271 batting average, 40 home runs, 131 RBI and a .870 OPS, while Jeff McNeil won the National League batting title with a .326 batting average, nine homers, 39 doubles, 62 RBI and a .836 OPS. The second baseman also excelled in the field with an elite glove.

Lindor is not a surprising inclusion given his stellar year at short for the Mets. The four-time All-Star broke out in a huge way in Queens with 26 home runs, 107 RBI, 16 stolen bases, a .339 on-base percentage and a .788 OPS. Lindor’s ability to make big plays in the clutch, coupled with flashy grabs with the glove in the field, underlined his importance to this team.

What was perhaps a surprise, however, was Vogelbach’s inclusion on the ballot. The slugger was only acquired by the Mets prior to the trade deadline but he hit .255/.393/.436/.830 in Queens with nine doubles, six homers and 25 RBI from the DH spot. There are plenty of options to pick from in the outfield section of the ballot, including Marte who had a solid first year in a Mets uniform. The veteran had a .292 average with 16 home runs, 63 RBI, 18 stolen bases and a .815 OPS.

Nimmo is also on the ballot as an outfielder after excelling in a leadoff role for the Mets in 2022. The lefty bat hit .274/.367/.433/.800 with 16 home runs, 30 doubles, 7 triples, 64 RBI and three stolen bases. In terms of pitching, Scherzer makes the ballot after going 11-5 with a 2.29 ERA in his first year in a Mets uniform. The three-time Cy Young Award winner also struck out 173 batters in 145.1 innings with a 0.908 WHIP and a 5.2 WAR.

Last but not least is Diaz, who is sure to get plenty of votes among all relief pitchers on the ballot. The elite shutdown arm enjoyed a historic year in 2022, cementing his status as one of the best closers in all of baseball with a stellar 1.31 ERA to go along with 32 saves and 118 strikeouts. Hence why the Mets have just locked him down to a five-year contract worth $102 million – a record for a relief pitcher in baseball.
