All of a sudden the New York Mets know how to win on the road.  They are 6-0 on the current road trip, ten games over .500 and find themselves heading into the Bronx just a half a game behind the division leading Braves.  That’s right, the Braves.

The Mets have gone 9-1 in their last 10 games, which includes games at home and on the road.  With a 24-10 record at home, and an improved 14-18 record on the road, the Mets find themselves in a very comfortable, yet interesting situation.

While the team may be returning to their home town — where they will sleep in their own beds, take the usual method of transportation to the ballpark and have plenty of their fans in attendance — they won’t exactly be, home. While this Bronx version of the 2010 Subway Series is in New York, for our  Metsies, it is still a road series.

So how does this play into the mentality of our boys in orange and blue?  Will they subconsciously lean towards the “home” mentality or the “road” one?

At this point, I wouldn’t think it matters either way.  The Mets dominate at home, as proven by their home record, and lately they are unstoppable on the road as well.

The Mets are on fire right now and facing the Yankees couldn’t come at a better time.  They took the series back in May at home, and I have a pretty good feeling they will take this one in the Bronx too.

I would like to close by thanking Joe D for the opportunity to write for such a wonderful site.  This is my 100th post for MMO and I am so honored and proud to be able to share my Mets thoughts and theories with all of you. LGM!!! YGB!!!
