Buffalo Bisons 8 – Rochester Red Wings 4
Hits galore for both teams. Luckily for Pat Misch and the Heard the Red Wings went just 4-for-16 with runners in scoring position. Misch allowed a two-out rally in the 3rd to give up a run, three straight singles the 5th for a run, and back-to-back doubles in the 6th for the final run against him. The Bisons needed three pitchers to close out the 9th because Brian Sweeney could not finish things off. Sweeney got two quick outs in the 9th, but wound up loading the bases. Justin Hampson came on for one batter and hit him to score a run. Dale Thayer was then brought in with the game being a save situation and struck the batter out.
1-3 and 5-7 in the order all had two hits a piece. The lone man in the middle who went hitless was none other than Fernando Martinez. The Bisons got on the board early when Val Pascucci came up with the bases loaded and cleared them with a double. Pascucci brought home the next run with a solo homer in the 5th and then Luis Hernandez doubled home Jason Botts. With two on and two out in the 7th the Bison hit three straight singles two bring home three runs that gave the pitchers some necessary wiggle room.

Binghamton Mets 2 – New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4
Robert Carson was controlling his pitches tonight after struggling with his control the last few times out. The command was still a bit spotty, but he went deep in the game and kept the B-Mets in it. In the first inning Carson had Anthony Gose picked off, but Jordany Valdespin committed an error for a third straight game when he failed to catch the ball and allowed Gose to advance to second safely. The error allowed him to score an unearned run on a two-out single. The 3rd inning was rough for Carson who gave up a single, double, double, single, and single all in a row to score three runs. He was excellent in every inning other than those two. Brad Holt struckout three in two perfect innings and as the B-Mets beat writer pointed out, he has retired nine men in a row over the course of his last three appearances.
Even with the defensive struggles Valdespin has continued to hit. He went back-to-back with Josh Satin in the 6th inning for the only runs of the game for the Mets. The offense was pretty weak all game, but they did get singles from Raul Reyes and Eric Campbell in the 6th and had two on with one out, however, Matt Den Dekker and Valdespin could not bring anyone home.

St. Lucie Mets 1 – Lakeland Tigers 2
Scott Moviel was pitching pretty well, but his night was cut short because of wildness. Moviel allowed a single and double to leadoff the 3rd inning. Juan Centeno allowed a passed ball then Moviel got two outs before allowing a two-out RBI single. He struck out more than a batter per inning for one of the only times all year, but walked three and hit two in four innings. His control is vastly improved from last year and he is picking up more groundballs, but the strikeouts have taken a huge hit and the overall results have been just as poor.
David Wright rehabbed tonight and was in on the only run. He doubled in the first inning and had the St. Lucie everyday third baseman, Jefry Marte, single him home with two outs. The Mets hit a weak 2-for-7 with runners in scoring position. They loaded the bases with one out in the 6th, but Cesar Puello, who continues to struggle, struckout swinging and Rylan Sandoval grounded out.

Savannah Sand Gants 4 – Lexington Legends 2
It seems like every fifth day you can count on Angel Cuan pitching a good game for the win and Adam Kolarek getting the save in a near spotless save. Over the last four starts Cuan has gone 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA while pitching 24 innings and posting a nifty 3:16 BB:K ratio. Tonight he allowed just a run on a solo homer in the 2nd. Kolarek allowed a triple and single for his first run since June 24th.
Darrell Ceciliani doubled to leadoff the game, but then Wilfredo Tovar made a mistake following that when he got thrown out trying to stretch a single to a double and killed a bigger threat. Ceciliani came in on a groundout. Ceciliani then hit a two-out single in the 7th that brought in two, one of which was because of a throwing error. Alonzo Harris capped off the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the 9th.

Brooklyn Cyclones 10 – Auburn Doubledays 4
Carlos Vazquez was perfect through 3.2 innings until he allowed a double and single to blow the perfect game and shutout. Cory Mazzoni gave up two hits and struckout two in an inning of relief. Jeremy Gould allowed all three runs with two outs in the 9th. The offense just kept pouring on runs. Danny Muno was perfect at the plate and scored three runs in the process. Cole Frenzel‘s impressive start continued with two more hits and two RBI.

Kingsport Mets 1 – Bluefield Blue Jays 3
Jacob Lugo is pretty much a non-prospect, but he has been the K-Mets best and most consistent starter this year. Then again he is 21 and has shown poor command. Camden Maron, Jeff Glenn, and Yucarybert De La Cruz all got on to open the 8th with De La Cruz scoring Maron on a single. Unfortunately, T.J. Rivera, Dustin Lawley, and Greg Pron all struckout swinging to prevent any comeback attempt.

Joe Tuschak made his professional debut and went hitless, but still scored a run on a passed ball after reaching on an error. Eric Beaulac was much, much, much better in his second rehab appearance and Michael Hebert had another impressive outing.
