David Wright belts a pair of homers in Mets 11-4 rout of the Orioles.
The Mets extended their winning streak to four games with today’s 11 to 4 win over the Orioles this afternoon at Camden Yards in Baltimore. For the first time since May of last season, the Mets have won three games in a row on the road and for the first time since September of 2008, the Mets have swept a three-game series on the road.
Game Notes
Although Mike Pelfrey had somewhat of an off day, giving up three runs over six innings, the offense picked up the slack, getting a season high 18 hits. The Mets hit a total of 4 home runs, including David Wright’s 11th and 12th. Wright had 4 RBI on the day and also hit his 16th double of the year. Every Met ended the day with at least one hit.
They set the tone early, scoring five runs off of Kevin Milwood in the first inning, with Chris Carter’s three run home run capping off the rally and Jesus Feliciano getting his first major league hit. Jason Bay also broke his 0 for 16 slump, going 4 for 4 today, with a home run.
Turning Point
Even though it was only the first inning, the Mets offense coming alive with 5 runs was the turning point.

Next Game
The Mets have a day off tomorrow, but return to action on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Johan Santana will face Justin Masterson.
