Just this weekend alone, Travis d’Arnaud was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bone bruise and Asdrubal Cabrera suffered a thumb injury to add to the growing list of injuries.

Regardless, the Mets offense has experienced an unexpected revival and can improve to .500 with a win Sunday.

Saturday night’s 11-3 victory over the Miami Marlins made it the ninth game in a row that the Mets have scored five runs or more, tying the second longest stretch in club history.

Additionally, the team has scored at least seven runs in the each of its last five games, the second longest streak in team history and can tie a club record if they register seven runs scored this afternoon.

“You talk about different guys coming through,” Mets manager Terry Collins said. “T.J. Rivera has had big hit after big hit the last two games, Jay continues to swing good, Jose is starting to get it going, that’s how we are going to have to do it. With Ces out and now Cabby out we’ve gotta spread the wealth around.”

And spread the wealth around they surely have done. The Mets have now scored 35 runs on 37 hits over their last three games.

The aforementioned Rivera is batting .400 (12-30) with eight runs scored, five doubles, one home run and five RBI in his last eight games, while Jose Reyes has reached base in 12 straight games and has hit .348 (15-43) in that span.

Let’s not forget the scalding hot Michael Conforto who is hitting at a potent .342/.435/.658 clip with seven home runs and 20 RBI this season.

Winning six of its last eight games, the Mets have found ways to produce without the long ball.

In Wednesday’s 16-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves as well as last night’s defeat of the Marlins, the Mets didn’t hit a single home run and in Friday’s 8-7 comeback win, home runs accounted for just three of the eight.

The Mets currently lead the majors with a .328 batting average (62-for-189) with runners in scoring position (RISP) as well as ranking second with a .968 on-base plus slugging (OPS).

Should the Mets see success throughout the 2017 season, they will have to keep this number up, as the team came in dead last with a .225 batting average with RISP last year.
