The New York Mets have reportedly reunited with an old friend.

Infielder Ruben Tejada has agreed to a minor league deal with the Mets, according to his agent Phil Terrano of Primetime Sports Group on Twitter.

Tejada, 29, spent the 2018 season with the Baltimore Orioles Triple-A affiliate. He appeared in 101 games and owned a triple slash of .230/.291/.298 with two home runs and 34 RBI.

The Panama native last appeared in the majors in 2017 with Baltimore where he saw action in 41 games.

Tejada is perhaps most remembered for being taken out by Chase Utley in the 2015 National League Division Series, which led to the shortstop sustaining a broken fibula.

Utley more or less tackled Tejada, but played it off like it was a clean slide. This led to the former enduring a shower of boos when the series returned to Queens.

Overall, Tejada spent six years with the Mets before being waived prior to the 2016 regular season.
