Per MMOs Michael Mayer, the Mets are unlikely to hire Red Sox executive Raquel Ferreira.

Her name was first floated as a candidate over the weekend and the Red Sox granted the Mets permission to speak to Ferreira yesterday, the question was if she was interested in the job.

Ferreria has been with the Red Sox for the last 23 years and currently reports directly to Chaim Bloom.

Ferreira has played an integral part in Boston’s recent successes over the past couple of decades after first joining the organization in 1999 as an administrative assistant. She started working her way up the ladder in 2003 when Theo Epstein promoted her to be the Director of Minor League Administration. She became just the third female vice president of baseball operations in MLB history when she earned that promotion in late 2014. When Dave Dombrowski was fired in 2019, she was also part of the interim leadership team that held things down before Bloom was hired. Once that happened, she moved into her current role/title after signing a multi-year contract.

On to the next candidate.
