The Mets minor league season starts on May 4 and our Michael Mayer of Metsmerized broke down where some of the Mets’ top prospects will be to start the season.

The Mets have not released the full rosters yet. We will keep you updated when they do.

Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies

Double-A Binghamton will have two of the Mets’ top prospects on their roster to begin the 2021 season. Notable prospects include third baseman Mark Vientos and second baseman Carlos Cortes.

High-A Brooklyn Cyclones

High-A Brooklyn will begin their season with four of the Mets’ top prospects. Those prospects will include shortstop Ronny Mauricio, right-handed pitcher Matthew Allan, third baseman Brett Baty, and right-handed pitcher Jose Butto.

Low-A St. Lucie Mets

Low-A St. Lucie will have some notable newly drafted players and top Mets prospects. The four prospects that will begin their season in Port St. Lucie, FL. include outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ 2020 first round draft pick at No. 19 overall. Other prospects that will begin their season in south Florida will include Mets No. 1 top prospect, catcher Francisco Alvarez, who was signed by the Mets in 2018.

Third baseman and shortstop Jaylen Palmer will also start his season in Port St. Lucie. Palmer, the Mets’ No. 12 prospect was drafted in 2018 by the Mets.

Rounding out the top prospects in Port St. Lucie is shortstop Shervyen Newton, the Mets’ No. 15 prospect, signed in 2015 by the Mets.

There will also be prospects in Syracuse, however that roster will constantly change with the alternate site still in effect.
