Willie Randolph and Bobby Valentine co-managing, or how about the potential for R.A. Dickey pitching to Josh Thole again, or maybe Rubén Tejada getting a hit off Pedro Martínez, or could we see Rey Ordóñez robbing Curtis Granderson of a base hit? All of these are possible following the New York Mets announcement of an Alumni Classic Game on September 13 at Citi Field.
The three-inning game will take place prior to the 4:10 p.m. contest against the Texas Rangers. The rosters will be comprised of Amazin’ legends from the last decade of Shea Stadium and the first decade from Citi Field.

With the Rangers being the team in town, fans could also see Al Leiter and his son, Jack Leiter, pitch on the same day in the same park and/or see Jacob deGrom‘s return to Citi Field. More info and tickets here.
