All four of the Mets full season affiliates announced their coaching staffs for the upcoming season, and while there’s a new manager at each stop, most of the coaches are familiar with the organization.
Triple-A Syracuse Mets
- manager – Kevin Boles
- hitting coach – Joel Chimelis
- pitching coach – Steve Schrenk
- bench coach – Jay Pecci
- development coach – Chris Jacobs
Jacobs is the only new member of the Mets organization from this staff.
Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies
- manager – Reid Brignac
- hitting coach – Tommy Joseph
- pitching coach – Jerome Williams
- bench coach – Mariano Duncan
Yes, this is an all former Phillies coaching staff. This is also an entirely new staff for Binghamton than the 2021 one.
High-A Brooklyn Cyclones
- manager – Luis Rivera
- hitting coach – Richie Benes
- pitching coach – AJ Sager
- bench coach – Chris Newell
Rivera becomes the first manager of the Cyclones that also played for the team, he was a New York-Penn League All-Star back in 2009. Sager comes to the Mets from the Tigers organization.
Low-A St. Lucie Mets
- manager – Robbie Robinson
- hitting coach – Victor Burgos
- pitching coach – Victor Ramos
- bench coach – Gilbert Gomez
- development coach – Bryce Wheary
Burgos joins the Mets organization after working in Indy Ball.
It was reported last month that the Mets hired Jono Armold to be their minor league pitching coordinator, and that the organization hired a director of analytics to cover the minor leagues.
