Prior to today’s game against the Blue Jays, the Mets made a couple of roster moves.
The team activated left-hander Steven Matz from the 10-day injured list. Matz was initially placed on the IL on Aug. 30 due to left shoulder discomfort.
Following this move, the Mets optioned right-hander Drew Smith to their Alternate Training Site. Smith last pitched on Aug. 30 against the Yankees and was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) in just one inning.
