Luis Guillorme will be activated from the injured list ahead of Friday’s game, according to Justin Toscano of The Record. Guillorme has been out since April 30 with an oblique injury. If he’s activated Friday, he’ll have been out exactly six weeks.

Anthony DiComo added that infielder Travis Blankenhorn has been option to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

The 26-year-old infielder Guillorme played nine innings each of the last two days with Triple-A Syracuse. It was the final step to test Guillorme’s oblique before presumably activating him. He went 2-for-7 with a walk over the two games while playing second base.

Guillorme will not start Friday given he’s played two full games the last two days (and the Padres are starting Blake Snell), but he’ll likely be available off the bench before potentially getting a start Saturday.

Before injuring his oblique, Guillorme had six hits in 18 at-bats with five walks and just one strikeout. He was yearning for playing time in April with a fully healthy team. When he returns, he’ll likely get the lion’s share of playing time at the position, moving José Peraza to the bench.

The team is getting healthier bit by bit. Albert Almora Jr. will likely come up within a couple days of Guillorme, and Jeff McNeil is starting his rehab assignment this weekend.
