Luis Guillorme and Trevor May are back with the New York Mets.

As the Mets begin their series with the Chicago Cubs, they add two key contributors and make two corresponding roster moves. With the return of Guillorme and May, the Mets designated infielder Deven Marrero for assignment and sent reliever Bryce Montes de Oca to the 15-day injured list with a hamstring injury.

Guillorme is back with the Mets after missing a month with a groin injury suffered on August 14. A defensive whiz, Guillorme will quickly rejoin the Mets infield rotation and return to his role as a tough out in the bottom of the lineup.

May returns from a non-injury designation stint on the injured list which traditionally means he tested positive for Covid-19. May was finding his groove after missing multiple months with injury this season.

The Mets continue to get stronger down the stretch run. Next up to return from the injured list will be pitchers Drew Smith and Tylor Megill who are both in the late stages of their rehab process.
