The Mets trade deadline acquisitions are here.

Prior to Wednesday’s game against the Nationals the Mets made roster moves to activate Darin Ruf, Mychal Givens, and Trevor May.

In order to activate those three, the Mets designated Kramer Robertson for assignment and optioned relievers Stephen Nogosek and Yoan Lopez.

The Mets acquired Ruf from the Giants at the deadline for J.D. Davis, Thomas Szapucki, Nick Zwack, and Carson Seymour. Ruf, 36, mashes left-handed pitching and has a .887 OPS against them this season.

Givens was acquired from the Cubs for minor leaguer Saul Gonzalez. Givens previously pitched for manager Buck Showalter as a member of the Orioles from 2015-18. This season, Givens has a 2.66 ERA in 40 appearances.

May makes his return to the Mets bullpen. He’s been on the injured list since May 2 with a triceps injury. May struggled this April with an 8.64 ERA over 8 1/3 innings. Last season for the Mets, May pitched to a 3.59 ERA across 62 2/3 innings. If he can regain his form to that status the Mets bullpen may be better off than what was thought.

Robertson did not appear in a game for the Mets. He was originally signed as a depth piece in June.

Nogosek and Lopez are both demoted again after poor pitching performances Tuesday against the Nationals. Nogosek allowed three runs in one inning pitched, including two home runs. Lopez allowed a home run in his lone inning pitched as well.

Additionally, catcher James McCann is expected back on Thursday. The catcher expects to be in a rough 50 percent timeshare with Tomas Nido in the short-term future. McCann was rehabbing from a left oblique strain he suffered just eight games after being activated for a broken left hamate which caused him to miss six weeks.
