The Mets have brought back veteran infielder Todd Frazier according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. No word on the return from the Rangers yet, the Mets also got veteran catcher Robinson Chirinos from Texas.

John Blake on Twitter announced that the Mets would send the Rangers a player to be named later to complete the deal for Frazier (and another for Chirinos).

Frazier is hitting .241/.322/.380 with two home runs and seven RBIs this season in 121 plate appearances.

Here’s Pete Alonso’s thoughts on getting Frazier:

The Toms River, New Jersey native hit .233/.316/.418 with 37 doubles and 39 home runs with the Mets combined in 2018 and 2019.

J.D. Davis was not in the lineup, he has been sore since getting hit by a fastball from Aroldis Chapman on the hip.
