Devin Mesoraco was removed from the game in the bottom of the seventh inning against the Toronto Blue Jays, possibly as the result of a head injury.
The catcher was hit in the head twice in tonight’s game, once on a foul ball and later on a swing as well.
Mesoraco, 30, was 1-for-3 with a two-run home run on the night before being removed from the game. He had appeared in 35 games (104 at-bats) with the Mets coming into tonight, slashing .224/.311/.405.
Kevin Plawecki replaced him in the field.
