Mets minor league prospects Patrick Mazeika, Peter Alonso and Jhoan Urena were named to the Florida State League Post-Season All-Star team. In addition, Amed Rosario was named to the Pacific Coast League Post-Season All-Star team.

Mazeika, a 23-year-old catcher, hit .287/.389/.406 in 100 games for St. Lucie this summer, hitting seven home runs and driving in 50. He also has experience at first base.

Recently promoted to Double-A Binghamton, first baseman Peter Alonso showed off his power enough to merit an All Star selection. In 82 games, the 22-year-old slashed .286/.361/.516 with 16 home runs, 23 doubles and 58 RBIs. Some view him, not Dominic Smith, as the Mets’ first baseman of the future and he is certainly a name to keep an eye on.

Lastly Urena, 22, slashed .282/.364/.437 with 11 home runs, 34 doubles, two triples and 62 RBIs in 122 games for St. Lucie this season. He played first base, third base, and outfield as he works on his versatility.

All three of these players are legitimate prospects and could end up producing for the Mets at the Major League level eventually. For now, though, they earned their All Star nods and remain prospects.
