September is near, and the Baby Mets can finally reunite.

After news came out Wednesday evening that Ronny Mauricio would get his long-awaited call up to the majors, Brett Baty—who was sent down to Triple-A a couple of weeks ago—will return to the Mets along with Mauricio for the Mets’ series Friday, according to MMO’s Mike Mayer.

With Maurico’s call up and Baty’s return, the Mets’ four top hitting prospects will be on the same team in the majors for the first time, with Mark Vientos and Francisco Álvarez also on the major league roster.

Pitcher José Butto will be recalled, as well.

Baty was sent to Triple-A on August 8 after a prolonged poor stretch of play, where he slashed .199/.271/.292/.563 with a 62 wRC+ from June 1 until his demotion.

After returning to Triple-A, Baty got off to a hot start, mashing three home runs in five games. He’s cooled off since, though, slashing .224./.304/.367/.671 over his last 56 plate appearances. Overall, he’s been a league-average hitter since August 10.

With Baty back and Mauricio making his debut, it’s realistic the Mets could trot out a lineup with Baty at third, Mauricio at second, Álvarez at catch, and Vientos at designated hitter. Alongside those four could be Pete Alonso at first, Francisco Lindor at shortstop, Jeff McNeil in left field, Brandon Nimmo in center, and hottest-hitter-on-the-planet DJ Stewart out in right. That would be a reason to go to the ballpark.

The Mets start a three-game set against the Seattle Mariners on Friday before heading on the road the following week. In other Mets news, Carlos Carrasco was not claimed on waivers and returned to the Mets.
