Steven Matz will get the start for the Mets on Saturday vs the Marlins according to Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports.
Matz has been on the injured list since May 8 (retroactive to May 5) due to left arm nerve irritation and missed two starts since.
The left-hander threw 45 pitches earlier on Wednesday and said he felt great today. He was having a problem throwing curveballs without pain, but that was not an issue during the bullpen.
Matz has a 3.86 ERA, FIP of 5.10, and WHIP of 1.20 in 35 innings this year. The 27-year-old had a 2.89 ERA in the three starts leading up to his IL stint.
The Mets still don’t have a starter announced for Monday, but that could go to right-hander Drew Gagnon.
