Matt Harvey has found a new home. The Orioles have signed him to a minor league deal, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

The former Met was, of course, once dominant in his time in Queens. In 2013, he posted a 2.27 ERA and 6.9 fWAR, and he led the Mets to a World Series in 2015.

It’s been a downhill dive ever since, as he hasn’t been the same since having to undergo thoracic outlet surgery. He’s had small spurts with the Reds, Angels and Royals, but has struggled badly wherever he’s gone.

This will be yet another chance at redemption for the Dark Knight, now 31, though at this point it’s tough to imagine him ever coming even close to his dominant form.

In other former Met news, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that Jay Bruce agreed to a minor league deal with the Yankees. Bruce spent parts of the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Mets, and returned to them in 2018. In 996 plate appearances with them, he posted a .237/.312/.442 batting line.
