Mets prospects Mark Vientos and Jake Mangum have been named to the Double-A Northeast League All-Star team after their impressive seasons with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Vientos, 21, finished in the top 10 of the league in almost every category including fourth in home runs (22), fourth in wRC+ (144), and second in isolated slugging (.299). His success with Binghamton earned himself a late season promotion to Triple-A Syracuse. He posted a .979 OPS with five extra base hits in 11 games for Syracuse.

Overall in 2021, Vientos slashed .281/.352/.581 with 18 doubles, 25 home runs, and 63 RBIs in only 349 plate appearances. After playing only shortstop and third base in the minor leagues previously, the Mets No. 5 prospect was introduced to first base and left field during the 2021 season.

Mangum, 25, finished tied for fourth in the league with his .294 average and his four triples tied him for sixth. The talented defensive center fielder hit .294/.342/.459 with 21 doubles, seven home runs, and 14 stolen bases in 75 games for Binghamton. The power numbers are impressive for a hitter that had only five home runs in over a 1,000 college at-bats.

Both Mangum and Vientos figure to start the 2022 season on the cusp of the big league in Triple-A Syracuse.
