Marcus Stroman was removed from Wednesday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians after the fourth inning with left hamstring tightness.

Stroman, 28, made the final out of the fourth covering first base, which is how the injury might have occurred. The right-hander allowed one run, five hits, and one walk to go along with one strikeout before being replaced by Jeurys Familia.

Entering Wednesday’s game, Stroman had a 3.21 ERA, 3.70 FIP, and 1.297 WHIP with a strikeout rate of 7.4 K/9 as compared to a walk rate of 2.8 BB/9.

The Mets acquired Stroman on July 28 from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Simeon Woods Richardson and Anthony Kay.
