Mets manager Luis Rojas spoke to the media in a presser on Friday, providing updates before the exhibition games against the Yankees this weekend.

Rojas is hoping that Yoenis Cespedes will be able to play both games this weekend, and mentioned the possibility that he could DH in one and play the field (likely left) in the other.

He also said that Jacob deGrom, who had to end his previous start early because of back stiffness, threw a 17-pitch side session and “feels really good.” However, deGrom will not pitch against the Yankees this weekend, and will instead throw a 50-60 pitch bullpen back at Citi Field.

Rick Porcello will start on Saturday, and Corey Oswalt will start on Sunday.

Rojas declined to say whether or not Jed Lowrie will be on the Opening Day roster, simply saying that they are not there yet with the roster. However, there is reason for cautious optimism in that department as Rojas described Lowrie as “full-go” as recently as earlier this month.
