Ken Griffey Jr., Trevor Hoffman and former Met closer Billy Wagner headline the new class of candidates on the 2016 Hall of Fame ballot which was just announced today.
Among the other newcomers on the latest ballot are Garret Anderson, David Eckstein, Jim Edmonds, Luis Castillo, Troy Glaus, Mike Lowell and Mike Sweeney.

475 ballots were mailed out today to select members of the BBWAA who now have until Dec. 21 to mail in their completed ballots. The results will be revealed on MLB Network on Jan. 6.
Mike Piazza, now in his fourth year on the ballot, only appeared on 69.9 percent of Hall of Fame ballots last winter, but is widely expected to reach the 75 percent threshold this time around.
