Kevin Burkhardt of SNY has just tweeted the following:
Krod has a torn ligament in right thumb. Sounds like it happened in the fight. Surgery coming, season over.
I’m actually a little stunned, yet not surprised…
The Mets have every right to not pay the rest of K-Rod’s salary for this season and maybe even next season as well.
He injured his thumb while committing a crime, and not by playing baseball.
If it happened in the fight as Burkhardt suggests, the Mets should challenge the Players Union and take this as fas it will go.
Man, I’m pissed…
