Right-hander Jim Henderson was added to the St. Lucie Mets roster along with Zack Wheeler today. Wheeler gets the start tonight with Henderson expected to pitch in relief.
Henderson was first put on the 15-Day disabled list June 19 with right biceps tendinitis. He started his rehab assignment on July 1 at Double-A Binghamton, where he allowed eight runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out four batters in 4.2 innings.
He then threw three scoreless innings with five strikeouts for the Las Vegas 51s before a hamstring issue shut him down after his appearance on July 18th.
In 31 appearances for the Mets this season, Henderson was 1-2 with a 4.26 ERA, while striking out 30 batters in 21 innings.
