Jenrry Mejia‘s next start is scheduled for Saturday, but I’m wondering if it will come against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs… or for the Mets against the Chicago Cubs. Hey why not?

The baseball gods were listening!

Top Mets pitching prospect Jenrry Mejia made his Triple-A debut a memorable one as he delivered a memorable and dominating performance for the Buffalo Bisons last night against the Syracuse Chiefs.

Mejia actually took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before finally letting up a solo home run to Michael Martinez. Mejia didn’t get the win due to a lack of run support, but his manager Ken Oberkfell was impressed by his swagger and confidence.

The young right hander was electrifying and struck out nine batters while walking one in eight innings of work, and throwing 66 of his 103 pitches for strikes. His fastball was clocked at 95-97 mph, and his curveball was outstanding.
