Jeff McNeil was off to a mediocre start (.720 OPS) before he hit a wall, literally. On August 13, McNeil made a fantastic catch in left field that saved multiple runs as he slammed into the wall. McNeil would leave the game and miss the next two games with a sore knee.

The super utility man returned to the lineup on August 16, though he was clearly not 100%. McNeil would go 3-for-20 with zero base hits over the next week.

After a 2-for-4 game in the Mets big walk-off win 9-7 over the Yankees on Thursday, McNeil is 11-for-27 with five doubles, three RBIs, and two walks during his current seven-game hitting streak.

The 28-year-old McNeil is now up to .292/.355/.377 on the season and is still looking for his first home run.
