According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Mets outfielder Jay Bruce is sidelined Monday with a recurrence of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. DiComo said Bruce expects to be back in tomorrow.
Bruce, 31, has gone 11-for-46 so far this season with one homer, seven RBI and eight walks.
The outfielder dealt with a similar problem last season as well as Spring Training that forced him to miss some time.
Matt Ehalt of The Record adds that Bruce is still available to pinch hit.
