As per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the New York Mets have officially activated left-handed starter Jason Vargas off the 10-day injured list after suffering a left hamstring strain during his last start, May 5 in Milwaukee.

Vargas, 36, has pitched under heavy scrutiny this season. Over 24.1 innings, the veteran southpaw owns a 5.92 ERA with 20 strikeouts and 12 walks.

From April 19 through his final outing before being injured, Vargas owned a 3.00 ERA with a .188/.284/.406 slash line against over four starts (18 innings).

Vargas is scheduled to start on Saturday afternoon at home versus the Tigers.

Luis Guillorme, hitting .167/.211/.167 over 19 plate appearances (his last at-bat came on April 24), was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse as the corresponding move to accommodate Vargas on the 25-man roster.
