
Jacob deGrom struggled in his outing on Monday night against the Dodgers in the Mets 9-5 loss.
He lasted only five innings with a pitch count that went up to 105 pitches in that short period. DeGrom did battle through the outing holding the Dodgers to 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. He gave up seven hits and had a season-low two strikeouts.
DeGrom left the game with a 3-2 lead heading to the bottom of the sixth. He kept the Mets in the game despite not having his best stuff, “I didn’t have my best stuff tonight, but I was able to battle. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to win the game.”
The 2018 NL Cy Young winner now has a 3.71 ERA, 3.53 FIP, and 11.0 K/9 in 63 innings this year.
