Jacob deGrom has made the NL All-Star team, which in the case of the pitchers and bench players, is decided by the coaches of the rosters.

The right-hander has been absolutely fantastic this season as he has an NL-leading 1.79 ERA to go along with a 5-4 record, 0.99 WHIP, and 142 strikeouts in 115 1/3 innings this season.

Joining him on the pitching staff is Max Scherzer, Jon Lester, Aaron Nola, Josh Hader, Kenley Jansen, Patrick Corbin, Sean Doolittle, Mike Foltynewicz, Brad Hand, Miles Mikolas and Felipe Vasquez.

However, fellow teammate Brandon Nimmo was picked over for a spot on the team’s bench and roster as a whole.

Instead, the bench will be comprised of Buster Posey, J.T. Realmuto, Paul Goldschmidt, Joey Votto, Ozzie Albies, Scooter Gennett, Eugenio Suarez, Trevor Story, Charlie Blackmon, Lorenzo Cain, and Christian Yelich.

Nimmo is hitting .262/.386/.515 with 12 home runs and 26 RBI on the season. His OBP currently ranks 17th in all of baseball and tenth in the NL.
