Jacob deGrom has left CAA, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
CAA, of course, was Brodie Van Wagenen’s old agency, and deGrom was actually represented by Van Wagenen long before he became the Mets’ GM. With Friday’s news of Van Wagenen leaving the organization, this switch likely doesn’t come as a coincidence.
DeGrom will now be represented by the VC Sports Group, which represents a slew of MLB players such as Mookie Betts.
DeGrom still has three years left on his contract, with the Mets still owing him a total of $97.5 million after he signed a five-year extension in March 2019.
