Martinez, whose go-ahead three-run homer in the 10th inning helped New York to a 9-7 victory on Monday, is slashing .278/.360/.493 with 10 home runs.
This is the first game Martinez has missed since May 19, a scheduled rest day. We’ll update with more information as it comes in.
UPDATE, 7/2/24, 7:59 p.m.
Harrison Bader left Tuesday’s game after crashing into the center field wall trying to catch a fly ball off Danny Young’s bat. He stayed down for a couple of beats after not making the play.
The team said Bader was removed for precautionary reasons.
Bader, Martinez and Brandon Nimmo have all had injury scares the last 36 hours. Nimmo replaced Bader in the game.
