Good news Mets fans, J.D. Davis is expected to return ahead of schedule. This is according to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo.

Davis is ahead of schedule in his return after suffering from a jammed left shoulder exactly a week ago. He was taken out of last Tuesday’s game against the Tigers early.

He has been doing some baseball activity this past week, such as hitting in the cage. So far he has handled that well and has had no setbacks, which is a good sign.

We knew that his shoulder had no serious damage, but it is still good to see that he will be returning sooner rather than later.

After we saw his success in 2019 – his best of his career at .307/.369/.527  – it would definitely had been a blow if this injury were more serious. It is great news that he is ahead of schedule.
