Tonight’s eight combined home runs between the Mets and Nationals are the most in a game in Citi Field history, passing the previous high of seven home runs set on June 9, 2009 when the Mets hosted the Phillies.

The eight combined home runs tonight are also the most in a game the Nationals have been involved in team history (2005-present), according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Travis d’Arnaud homered to lead off the fourth inning for his second home run of the season and his second in his last three games. He is batting .378 (14-37) with two home runs and eight RBI over his last 10 games dating to June 24.

Jose Reyes hit a solo home run later in the fourth inning for his first home run of the season. His last home run as a Met came on September 27, 2011 when he homered twice off Cincinnati’s Bronson Arroyo.
