hefner

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, Jeremy Hefner is still debating whether to undergo Tommy John surgery for the second time in two years.

His original procedure was conducted on August 28th, 2013 and he re-injured his elbow on August 8th of this year.

Rubin says that Hefner will rest for a few more weeks before deciding between a more natural healing process or Tommy John Surgery.

August 8

Terrible news for Jeremy Hefner as Mets assistant GM John Ricco announced that he has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his forearm and another UCL tear in his right elbow. It now appears that Hefner is facing a second Tommy John surgery, but nothing official yet as he weighs his options.

Hefner was placed on the 7-day disabled list by the St. Lucie Mets with a right forearm strain while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery which he underwent last August. During his three starts he had no decisions and a 9.00 ERA in just 8.0 innings pitched.

With the Mets over the 2012 and 2013 seasons Hefner posted an 8-15 record to go along with his 4.65 ERA.

Hopefully Hefner can make a full recovery.
