Mets manager Mickey Callaway announced Monday that right-handed pitcher Matt Harvey will start Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Braves in his Spring debut.
Fellow right-hander Zack Wheeler will come on in relief of Harvey.
Wheeler last pitched on Friday and yielded just one hit in one inning of work. He struck out two and topped out at 97 mph.
Harvey is entering his walk year as a New York Met and will look to rebound after undergoing surgery to relieve Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in 2016 and a scapular injury last year.
