New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard was scratched from today’s start against the Atlanta Braves with discomfort in his bicep/shoulder on his pitching arm.

Matt Harvey was called upon to take his place and got roughed up allowing six runs on five hits and career high tying five walks in only 4.1 innings. The Mets fell 7-5 to the Braves for their sixth straight loss.

After the game, Harvey admitted that his body was tired from an intense workout on Wednesday and he didn’t find out that he would be starting today’s game until 10:00 AM for the 1:10 PM game.

Harvey was given the extremely late notice he would start on Thursday despite the Mets knowing that Syndergaard has felt some discomfort in his bullpen earlier this week and again on Wednesday during BP.
