In whats shaping up to be a wild one at Citi Field tonight between the Mets and the Phillies, both benches got a warning from plate umpire Alfonso Marquez in the fifth inning after Matt Harvey drilled Chase Utley in the back with a pitch.

Utley had already homered and singled off the Mets ace, but that was hardly the motivation as Phillies starting pitcher David Buchanan had hit both Wilmer Flores and Michael Cuddyer earlier in the game. Cuddyer was forced to leave the game with a left hand contusion.

Terry Collins was also ejected a batter later after Travis d’Arnaud was called for catcher’s interference on Ryan Howard to load the bases.

Harvey, who hasn’t been as crisp as his first start and was tagged for a pair of home runs, received a rousing ovation from the fans after he hit Utley, as the two players stared each other down.

The Gotham Dark Knight keeps adding to his legendary mystique.
