As we close out this Labor Day Weekend with friends and family, I just wanted to say a few things…

First and foremost, I want to say thank you to all of our brave servicemen and servicewomen who are still defending freedom here at home and overseas in every corner throughout the world. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your courage and patriotism.

Second, we smashed every record in the book for traffic in the month of August. Quite frankly, I don’t know why. But I want to say thanks to all our readers just the same. No matter how often we may agree or disagree, I am humbled by your support and I never take it for granted. Thanks so much…

Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone who contributes to this amazing Mets fansite. We have such a diverse and talented group of writers here, and in case any of you missed it because of my strange title the other day, this message from one of our Mets players was intended for all of you writers who make this site what it is:

Hey guys!

Just wanted to send an email to you all and once again tell you how much I’ve enjoyed the website in the 2 years I’ve been with the Mets organization.

The views and comments are, and have been, truly the most educated and non biased I’ve encountered in my 12 years of playing.

Your site is always the first I look at in the morning and I continue checking it throughout the day. You all really deserve praise and credit for having such a well designed site, and authors who have knowledge of the game of baseball. It’s been a real pleasure to visit.

Although my time is coming to a end with the Mets as an organization, I’ll continue following you to keep tabs with my teammates and the friends I’ve made in the time I’ve been here. A special thanks and good job to Petey Pete!!!

Hope you all have a great offseason and holidays too. The future is bright I promise you. I’ve played with some really talented young players in this organization and they are on the way. As a lifelong Mets fan myself ( I caught a lot of flack growing up wearing Darryl Strawberry jerseys in St. Louis), I’ll always keep saying LET’S GO METS!!!!!

Justin Hampson, New York Mets

Thanks to all of you!
