Hansel Robles Named NYPL Player of the Week

The third Mets prospect to take home top pitcher honors this week, Robles carried a perfect game into the eighth inning on Friday night but didn’t get the win.

The right-hander, who turns 22 Monday retired the first 23 batters he faced before yielding a two-out single in the eighth.

Unfortunately, his Cyclones went their first eight innings without a hit but collected two in the ninth to scratch out a 1-0 win.

Robles fanned seven in the game and has allowed four earned runs on 23 hits while striking out 39 in his last 39 innings covering seven starts. He is 3-1 with a 1.48 ERA with 51 strikeouts in nine starts with the Cyclones.
