Robert Gsellman was placed on the 10-day disables list with what has been diagnosed as a hamstring strain. In a corresponding move the Mets have recalled infielder Matt Reynolds from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Gsellman is 5-5 on the season with a 6.16 ERA and 5.09 FIP in 76.0 innings pitched. He has struck out 57 and walked 26, posting a 1.618 WHIP and -1.2 WAR.

Reynolds has been up and down all season, but in 23 games (27 at-bats) he has hit .185/.267/.296 with one home run and one RBI while providing solid defense all over the infield.

New York Mets right-hander Robert Gsellman was removed from Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Marlins with an apparent hamstring injury.

Gsellman was trying to beat out a hopper to second base in the fourth inning, and pulled up lame just as he was approaching the first base bag for the third out of the frame.

Trainer Ray Ramirez came out quickly, as Gsellman grabbed the back of his left quad and appeared to be in some pain. The two slowly walked back to the dugout where an agitated Gsellman could be seen shouting about the situation.

Gsellman had given up three runs on five hits in three innings of work, striking out four in the game. He most likely joins Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard and Zack Wheeler on the DL.

Will update when I get more news.
