The New York Mets announced that Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson had surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb.

Granderson underwent the procedure at the Hospital for Special Surgery and is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for Spring Training.

He suffered the injury during Game Three of the NLCS against the Cubs, but continued play through the pain and went 5-for-20 with three home runs and five RBI in the World Series.

Granderson, 34, had a tremendous comeback season in 2015, batting  .259 with a .364 on-base percentage as the Mets leadoff hitter with 33 doubles,  26 home runs, 91 walks, 70 RBI and 98 runs scored in 157 games.
