Exactly what does Fernando Tatis have to do to before the Mets realize that he is a better option off the bench than Brady Clark?

So far, Tatis acted like a good soldier and accepted his minor league assignment to New Orleans with grace and dignity. I thought he should have won a job out of Spring Training, but for whatever reason Brady Clark beat him out because of his versatility. (What versatility?)

Fernando Tatis has gone ahead and made a great showing in AAA. He is currently tied for the league lead in homers with six in just 13 games. That’s the same amount of homers the Mets had as a team before the Nationals series. His slugging percentage is .627 with an OPS of .978. (wow)

He is also batting .417 with three homers and a .462 OBP against left handers. Those sound like exactly the kind of numbers the Mets could use right now. He would be the perfect solution to the Mets’ need for a right-handed bat off the bench.

Tatis can play both corner outfield positions plus all four infield positions. If that is not versatility than what is?

The 33-year old Tatis once hit 34 homers and drove in 107 batters for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1999, showing that his current power surge is legit.

I say we should part ways with Brady Clark and strengthen the bench with the addition of Tatis as soon as possible.

I want to thank everyone who made our first live game thread of the season such a success. Normally we begin our "GAMEDAY LIVE" threads on Memorial Day weekend, but we wanted to test out some new stuff. We had over 500 comments which easily topped our high of 350 from last year. Thanks so much!
