The San Francisco Giants front office is in Los Angeles to meet with the representatives for Miami Marlins star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton according to Craig Mish of SiriusXM.

Stanton, 28, hit .281/.376/.631 with 32 doubles, 59 home runs, 132 RBI, 7.6 WAR and 165 OPS+ on his way to winning the National League MVP.

Earlier on Thursday it was reported by Jon Morosi of Fox Sports that the Marlins would likely accept a trade offer of second baseman Joe Panik, pitching prospect Tyler Beede and OF/INF prospect Chris Shaw in exchange for Stanton if the Giants are willing to take on least $250 million of the $295 million the contract still owed to Giancarlo.

Stanton has not given the Marlins the formal word yet that he would accept a trade to the Giants. Stanton was born and raised in California.
