Mets fan, an all new episode is here!

This week Mike and I are joined by the host of the ‘Mets In The Morning’ Podcast and former radio voice of the Amazin’s Josh Lewin!

Josh had some great conversations with us about hosting a show for the Mets, previewing the 2022 season, his time in the booth for the Amazin’s, and much more!

We asked Lewin what his favorite moment was while working in the Mets radio booth, and you might be surprised to hear that it wasn’t a play or call on the field:

“We had a rain delay in Philly a month into the season in 2012, and the storms going on forever and they finally call the game, but the plane can’t get out for a while so we just kind of hang out in the press box for like three hours, so I’m walking around and go to get some ice cream in the food room about an hour and a half into this delay, and Howie (Rose) is taking big gulps of water and spitting them out into the sink! So I’m thinking, “maybe he’s cleansing his palate, maybe I should be doing that to help my vocal stylings or whatever”…After about the fourth time I finally ask him “why are you doing that?” He looks at me with a straight face and says “I’m practicing my spit takes!” And that’s what he was doing, and a hall of fame radio announcer and that’s how he was killing his time…I love that man.”
